After all of the fun-filled days of July and August, we locals are happy for the cooler and quieter days of September. In my book, September is the best month in Sun Valley. Ernest Heminway agreed and wrote "Best of all he loved the fall … the fall with the tawny and grey, the leaves yellow on the cottonwoods, leaves floating on the trout streams and above the hills the high blue windless skies...”
In keeping with fall traditions world-wide, Ketchum's Sawtooth Brewery is hosting the fourth annual Oktoberfest. Here's the details:
Highlights: Local Craft Beer, Local Public House Food, Local LIVE music, Kraut-off, Friendly Competitions, the Beer Olympics, and more!
Where: Ketchum Town Square
The details: Bring your stein from last year or buy one this year and enjoy the festivities! Enter the 400 square foot Beer Garden with 7 German Lagers by Sawtooth Brewery on tap. $5 pints, $8 Liters all weekend! Any Sawtooth glass is your ticket to the festival! Donate a can of food to the Hunger Coalition and get $1 off your beer.
So next weekend get on your bike or hit the trails - it doesn't get any better in Sun Valley for fair weather. And then head over to the Ketchum Town Square for a few beers and live music.
